The Swedish SQL Server User Group is as it sounds a Swedish meeting place and forum for professional users of Microsoft SQL Server such as database administrators, application developers and Business Intelligence professionals.
The association arranges discussions and presentations, performed by both members and specially invited well-known Swedish and international experts.

Johan Åhlén, President
Johan har över 12 års erfarenhet av SQL Server sedan version 6.5 som konsult och företagare inom IT-branschen. Huvudinriktning är Business Intelligence, men sysslar med det mesta som är Microsoft- eller utvecklingsrelaterat. Är SQL Server MVP samt certifierad MCITP på SQL Server 2005 & 2008. Följer med intresse allt som rör sig i teknikens framkant. Bor i Skåne med fru och en dotter. Fritiden ägnas åt bland annat husrenovering och att traktera Bechstein-flygeln (som tidigare tillhört musikkändisen Östen Warnerbring). Hoppas att genom SQLug.se stifta nya trevliga bekantskaper.

Lars Utterström, Secretary
Lars is a Senior SQL Server DBA with more then thirteen years experience of SQL Server in version 6.5 and onwards. Started as an IT-consultant 1994 and are now a hired DBA at HP Enterprise Services.
Some of the certifications are MCSE: Data Platform, MCITP Database Administrator 2005 & 2008 and MCITP Database Developer 2005 & 2008 and MCITP Business Intelligence 2008.
Now live and working from Frankfurt am Main in Germany.
Other interest beside the IT is cycling on the tarmac or mountain bike in the bicycle club CK Hymer, later years it has moved to less competitions and more active in the association and the arrangements.

Tibor Karaszi, Vice President
Tibor Karaszi is located in Stockholm, Sweden, and has been working with Microsoft SQL Server since 1988, from version 1.0 and through all versions up to the current version. In 1997, he was named a SQL Server Most Valuable Professional (MVP), becoming the 7th SQL Server MVP in the world, and he has been nominated for the MVP award every year since.
Tibor’s SQL Server training experience goes back to 1991. He has been delivering training in Sweden and around the globe. Tibor has co-authored numerous books on SQL Server and has also been a regular writer and contributing editor for SQL Server Magazine. You can find Tibor speaking at conferences, seminars and workshops around the world. As a consultant, Tibor does various assignments focused on the database engine, from serving as a discussion partner about design issues, to providing practical performance tuning and production environment implementations.

Steinar Andersen, Treasurer
Steinar har över 15 års erfarenhet som SQL Server DBA, och började jobba med version 4.21 under mitten på 1990 talet. Är inriktad på drift/DBA med speciellt fokus på HA och prestanda. Har en bred IT bakgrund som konsult, utbildare, IT chef, konsultchef och VD på olika IT-bolag. Är idag VD på SQL Service som är ett konsultbolag nischat på Microsoft SQL Server. Vill gärna via SQLUG bidra till att sprida information om SQL Server och hjälpa SQLUG’s medlemmar att utnyttja SQL Server på nya och bättre sätt. I övrigt spenderas tiden tillsammans med fru och tre barn, på landet utanför Enköping norr om Stockholm.

Peter Larsson, Local Mentor for the Skåne region
Peter is a database professional, currently working for a company in Sweden with architecting, designing and building a Data Warehouse.
He has been using SQL Server since 1993, doing all versions from 4.2 to 6.0, 6.5, 7, 2000, 2005, 2008 and 2008R2.
Peter started his career as a high-school teacher and later started his own company in 1993.
He is an active member at SQLTeam.com where he posts under the member name Peso, and SqlServerCentral.com under the name SwePeso.
Peter lives in Bjuv, in southern of Sweden, is married, and with 3 children.
His interests include movies, photographing and volleyball.

Thomas Ivarsson, Local Mentor for the Skåne region
Thomas have been working with the MS BI platform since SQL Server 7.0 in 1999.
Presently Thomas work in the telecom industry in Sweden. He lives in Malmo in Southern Sweden.
Thomas was awarded as MS SQL Server MVP in 2008.
During the latest years Thomas have spent most of time on SSAS, TSQL programming, Reporting Services, ProClarity, Excel 2007/2010, MS Data mining and PowerPivot.
He is also interested in general Business Intelligence design, data modelling and methodology.
